CATTISTOCK CHURCH 150TH ANNIVERSARY-SERVICE AND CELEBRATION ON SUNDAY 27 APRIL
The 150th anniversary of the re-building of the St Peter and St Paul church was celebrated in unique style in Cattistock at the end of April.
Presided over by the Bishop of Sherborne, the service included music and readings based on the 1858 consecration service. Many of the congregation,
in what was a pleasingly full church, were attired in traditional Victorian dress.Afterwards in the Savill Hall villagers enjoyed a free hearty meal of pate,
bread and cheese washed down with ale and cider. Entertainment and music were provided by the Beaminster Gallery Quire, Bonnie Sartin
and Alistair Chisholm. As a result of donations from diners on the night and the generous provision of free product from Palmers,
Beer On Tap and Moores Biscuits plus home help from 11 cooks in the village, the event was almost self supporting.
