CATTISTOCK POST OFFICE

On 18th November the National Post Office announced that two Dorset Post Offices held back
for 'further review' since the original closure list of July 15th would now definitely close.

This eliminates the need for any other Dorset Post Office to be closed for the forseeable
future - we were originally warned that if any Post Office on the closure list was retained following
consultation, another would be selected for closure.

This news, along with the recent news that the Post Office Card Account will
stay with the Post Office - hopefully at least until 2015 - gives Cattistock Post Office as much security
as is possible  in these difficult economic times.

In other words, we can now confidently plan for the future of the combined PO and Stores.

The Frome Valley Parish Council's Post Office Sub-Committee met recently to agree it's next
priorities: the most important of these will be to continue its successful cooperation with Bill McGowan
and his colleagues to increase usage and turnover.

HOWEVER, THE FUTURE DEPENDS ON CHIMES READERS
THE MESSAGE IS STILL "USE IT OR LOSE IT"
